Well not to say that I stand on street corners offering my wares in nothing but a trench coat and heels (not often anyway).. but with Burlesque bust-ing out in our sleepy city I no longer find glitter accidentally rubbing off on my work. Instead it seductively grinds its hips against my lacey neck pieces, leaving trails of sequins in its midst. Perth has indeed welcomed in Burlesque with a warm, open, heaving bosom.
Women are adorning tutus, fishnet stockings, laced gloves and corsets so tight they could squeeze your liver, lungs and kidneys into one giant super organ.
Ladies, you can throw away your copy of Seduction For Dummies...
Burlesque fashion celebrates eroticism, sexuality and sensuality with such ease that you may never have to find yr self dressed in a short white dress, insecurely shuffling your 9 inch heels and stifling a giggle after presenting your one and only prepared line: Excuse me doctor?... but could you please administer my injection?
In fact you don't have to say a single cheesy word. The smallest (even most uncoordinated) movement reveals a flash of bare skin. Lace your corsets so tight that your breasts can do chin ups with every painful breath you take. A gentle hip sway and a curtain of beads will part like the Red Sea to reveal the path way to ... well... all sorts of bountiful things.
As a side project I'm currently designing a costume for the lovely and oober sexy Darlene.

Darlene oozes more femininity than I (in my school policy shoes and cotton tees) could even fathom. I can tell you now that when she gave me her measurements my Barbie doll turned absolutely green with envy.
I would give you a sneak peek but I can't really do that with out giving it all away but I will tell you it's an invisible dress. No, it's not just a clear rain jacket..
*tries not to lustfully daydream about Paz de la Huerta in The Limits of Control and fails miserably*

I promise to reveal everything when it is complete. Just brace yourself with the possibility of being presented with a naked emperor.
